Debuting at this year's Interbike, the new GC-T's...ladies love them!!

Get over it!

I found this sticker pasted to the bathroom stall at Interbike.  You gotta love the surly opinions of Coloradians.  I'm sitting here watching breaking news about yet another schoolyard shootout in the "colorful" state, if that ain't an understatement.  The day Interbike moves east, my sticker would read, "Bike racks, not gun racks!"  What would your sticker say?

Catlike helmets

Catlike is a European company that makes a great line of cycling helmets. The designs are both functional and good looking.

They are still looking for a distributor in the U.S., but I'm sure it won't be long.

Crankbrothers Cobalt and Acid

Crankbrothers sure has the design thing down alright. I don't know how this performs, but the Cobalt crank set looks nice and clean. I'd like to see a single speed version.

Here's a look at a new all-mountain set of pedals that, up until now, have only been sold in Europe. The Acid sits between the Candy and the Mallet and is billed as a lightweight enduro/gravity pedal.

Mike Curiak's Ultra Endurance Bike

Went to the Moots booth and stumbled upon this little number. It's Mike Curiak's ultra endurance ride that he uses in races such as the 350 mile Iditarod Trail Invitational. This guy is unbelievable.

The bike is outfitted with Surly's Endomorph tires. The front fork holds the white gas needed for Curiak's camping stove. It's the RV of bikes.

Hutchison Python 29er tires

I mentioned in my preview to the Outdoor Demo day one that I would be checking into the new 29 inch version of the Python. Well I talked to the rep. in the Hutchison booth only to find out that the tire has yet to make it to Interbike. I was able to confirm that the tire is a 2.0 and not the larger 2.3 some expected. The U.S. representative admitted that the European company may simply not be aware of the U.S. demand for more all-terrain oriented 29er tires.

He said either a 2.3 endurance version will be next or the Bulldog pattern, but a decision has not yet been reached.

Michelin XC A.T. 29er Tires

It seems that all the European tire manufacturer's are molding 29ers in race sizes. Here's the new Michelin XC A.T. (all terrain) 29 tire in a 2.0 size.

Camelbak built up all Skull Candy style

Look...I don't care who you are...there are times when you need to answer your cell phone while on the bike. And it would be nice to listen to some music without shutting out the entire world with ear buds? Camelbak solves both of these problems with it's new SC line of hydration packs.

Camelbak partnered with Skull Candy to produce a new line of packs that cater to the busy cyclist or outdoors-man. Simultaneously plug in your cell phone and iPod (or similar music player) stored in a special pouch within your Camelbak and voila you are surrounded by your favorite riding tunes. The best thing is that the sound comes through two speakers built into the straps that are directed straight to your ears. Buttons along the strap allow you to advance songs and control your cell phone at the same time. The microphone for the cell is built into the strap as well for completely hands free use.

The Skull Candy treatment will be added to the Mule and the women's LUXE. Pictured here is a version specially made for snowboarding or winter sports (I forget the name).

So for you dudes sneaking a ride out in the middle of a Saturday afternoon, you now have no excuse not to pick up some groceries for the nights dinner on your way home from your epic. Honey-dos have found a new outlet.

Interbike Porn Teaser

Once again, the full GC crew is back in Vegas to cover the world-renowned Booth Babe competition.  The end of the first day shows that word has spread in the past year and the ladies are lining up to get their pictures taken.  Some even showed with well-planned outfits and props for a chance at the crown.

We're still trying to locate last year's beauty, Keri Pink, but the crowning ceremony will go on...Goeff will look so cute in the GC tiara.  He'll probably even want to wear it to the wedding!!  Be on the lookout Thursday for "Miss" Booth Babe 2005;  And if you're a babe in a booth, watch for our flash, then give us a shout for a shot.

For those expecting a homely contest this year, be prepared for a shock that only the bike boys unclipped from the far coast can pull off.  We've got pro women from the cyclo and tri; and newcomers from near and far.  This year's contest is on its way, but for those who can't ride until the weekend, here's a little action to clip your cleats...
