I thought this blog was in need of a good meme. I mean, why not? There are a couple of fun ones out there, but I'm just not sure I could sustain some of them with original or humorous content. I first noticed Spexial Edukashun's Middle Finger Monday (a personal favorite), through Monkeytron's blog. Then Monkeytron must've decided to be more original so he started WTF? Friday (let's see what he'll have for us tomorrow!). Stumbled on The Foxybrown Show's Why Wednesday, but it's a little too open ended for me.
So I decided to shake it up a bit with Half-Nekkid Thursday (HNT). Except we'll do it MTB-style!
Originally I was going to post this photo as my first HNT entry. I found it on a Chinese news website with no context so I am not sure what event it is.
But, I re-read the HNT guidelines and realized that it does not fit the spirit of HNT. Basically the photo has to be of me or taken by me. So I quickly convinced my wife to do an emergency model shoot for me. It went something like this...
"Baby, I'm going to need you to take off your clothes and pose naked on your bike for me."
"What? Why? What are you talking about?!"
"It's not for me. It's for my fans (I always joke about my "fans" with my wife...don't worry...my ego is not that big...I know you'll drop me like a bad habit if I don't produce at least some decent stuff once in a while).
"No...I'm not getting naked for your...fans!"
"Listen, I just wrote up this big long post about HNT intending to post a painted bicyclist, when suddenly I found out that it does not follow the spirit of HNT. Besides the photo will not be risque, I just need you to be naked so I can try different angles."
She relented. She has the calf of a cyclist don't you think? Funny thing is I haven't been able to get her on the bike at all. She is actually more of a runner much to my chagrin.
It should be fun trying to get her to pose each Wednesday. We'll see over time how successful I am at this since I'm sure most of you don't want to see an HNT of me!
It's still just a little before midnight so I made it just under the wire. We'll see if we can become more original over time.
