So, here we are spending a lazy day at GC Headquarters when Betty shows with a cardboard full of Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale. Then it all started.
"I really like this beer!"
Those were the words Gman uttered over and over.
"I really like this beer!"
and over.
"I really like this beer!"
After every swig.
"I really like this beer!"
and again.
"I really like this beer!"
I heard this chant 20 times (and over again) during my first beer alone. He REALLY likes this beer. And I can't blame him. Of the many seasonals that are starting to flood the local Total Wine & Beverage stores, this is one tasty pumpkin ale. It has a smooth and distinguished flavor, not overdone with "traditional spices," but with just a subtle hint of nutmeg. Thin enough to be savored after a ride, this libation will just as easily satisfy your thirst on the back porch of a September afternoon as it will replenish vitamins and nutrients lost while pounding away on the trail. This is a beer that should be enjoyed in early Autumn and at slightly cooler than room temperature. Flash freeze it in the freezer for 20 minutes (as long as it takes for Betty to walk down the street) and pour into a frost-free sonsie glass to release the harvest aroma and bouquet of Fall fruits.
I'm stocking up on this one before it's gone for the year, and I'll bet my Interbike gambling money that Gman is too....glass slipper or not, he really likes this beer.
