I started doing some house cleaning to the site and moved some things around. I also added a few more link lists as well. I've moved all of the trail review information over on the right-hand side in one location. The left-hand side is reserved for other miscellaneous information. I'm still not satisfied with all that I have on the left so I will be continuing to work on it in the near future. Here's an overview of a few things that have been added:
- A list of noteworthy, controversial, or popular posts. One of the problems with a blog is that it is not very easy to find older content without spending a lot of time digging through the archives. I'll try to monitor things and add to the list when posts drop off of the front page.
- I've moved the list of area rider blogs up near the top. I learn a lot from the riders who post to these blogs so I wanted to raise their profile a bit. (I also didn't want to have to scroll to far on the page to find their links when I want to read them).
- There are several other cycling related blogs from people outside of the immediate area that I read regularly and have posted their links in a new list here as well. If you aren't familiar with some of them I would encourage you to give them a try.
- I added a list of mountain bike jargon. As I think of things that only mountain bikers seem to say or see terms used by others that aren't immediately obvious I'll add them to the list. Hope you will contribute as well...just leave a comment with this post or e-mail me.
I'll probably get rid of the Google advertising as well. It really provides next to no value, both to you and to me. I never believed that I would make real money with this, but I always thought it would provide an additional service. A glance at the ads shows that they are rather generic and mostly pretty lame.
In addition, I'm going to work on cleaning up some of the other links. Some are dead or not of the quality that I once thought or was led to believe. If I add or remove anything of significance I'll be sure to let you know.
Let me know what you think of some of these changes...Thanks...Graham.
